Way of Living

Leather is a natural product and one of the oldest materials which man surrounds himself with. In winter, it warms, in the summer, it cools. It is robust, resilient, pleasantly soft and natural. A great material: Smell it, feel it - a unique experience for all your senses! And it is primarily our leather that we are known for and that has made us true leather specialists. Our leathers are leathers which join perfect aesthetics and everyday usefulness. Only through this leather can make every furniture to a personality.

_____
A-INDIA is a robust, particularly decorative buffalo leather of Indian descent that has a thickness of between 1.4 and 1.6 mm and an unmistakable air of individuality.  The leather is treated with a mineral-based tanning process. The primary colors are created with transparent dyes in the barrel. A-INDIA is intended to set accents, however, and look worn from the very first day. Vitality and naturalness are what is important here. That is why additional darker pigments are applied to the surface and then rubbed by hand for an irregular appearance. This creates greater color differences in the material. In addition, the original surface remains partially visible with all its signs of nature and growth and retains the active breathing of aniline leather. A compact, robust leather is created with an authentic "used and vintage" look. The interplay between colored and naturally matt surfaces mirrors the natural aging process. As time passes, the artificially generated patina is then strengthened by actual signs of use. A-INDIA is flame-retardant.

_____
A-SOFT is a covered, slightly glossy nappa cowhide leather with a thickness of 0.9 – 1.1 mm. The leather is pre-dyed in the barrel with transparent dyes. The surface of A-SOFT is also totally pigmented during the manufacturing process to give it permanent protection against the environment. This protective layer of dye refines and equalizes the surface. The leather’s pores are visibly closed and most of the natural characteristics of the hide are covered. As a whole, the leather looks more uniform; a robust and very easy-to-care-for material is created with a particularly high practical value for numerous application areas. An outstanding feature of A-SOFT is the tasteful two-tone effect that accentuates the natural origin of the material. Another characteristic of this leather is also the particularly soft feel of the furniture leather that is created by certain special processes during tanning and dressing. Light, natural imprinting ensures an attractive, homelike look without affecting the quality of the leather.

B-BASIC

_____
at the moment 7 colours available | colour preview
_____
B-BASIC is a durable and easily maintainable cover material which characterized by a classic top sheen and a soft touch. The cowhide leather with a thickness of 1.2 - 1.4 mm is tanned with mineral tanning agents to make it durable. The existing natural characteristics and growth marks are evened out by a slight correction of the leather surface. Lightly pre-embossing the leather ensures that its beautiful appearance remains unchanged. B-BASIC has a fine true-to-nature grain pattern and an even leather structure. The leather receives its final colour through an additional finishing process. During this process pigments are applied to the leather surface which completely cover it and close the pores of the skin. This makes the majority of the natural characteristics of the hide invisible. This additional layer also serves the long-lasting protection against environmental influences, there-by creating a robust and easily maintainable material with a very long service life which is suitable for many applications. B-BASIC reliably fulfills the requirements of the Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel (DGM - German Quality Association for Furniture).

_____
at the moment 8 colours available  |  colour preview
_____
B-BUFFALO is a 1.3 – 1.5 mm thick buffalo leather which satisfies, above all, with modern nonchalance and its sportiness. B-BUFFALO is re-treated minerally and naturally. Because of this, the material has a surprisingly fine grain pattern for buffalo leather. What is special about this material is that, for the final colouring, a pigment layer is applied to the surface of the leather, but otherwise B-BUFFALO is treated during the adjustment like a classic pure aniline leather and hence its appearance is also evocative of a completely untreated furniture leather. The structure of the skins is preserved. The pores of the skin remain partially open. For individual colours, there is no integral colouring. These colours can display wonderful effects especially on stitching and edges if the underlying colour is visible. Subsequently applied waxes, which break open through comprehensive tumbling of the skins in a cask, give the material a lived-in character and a chalk-like appearance to the individual colours. B-BUFFALO reliably fulfils the requirements of the German Goods Community for Furniture (DGM).

N-NATURO is an earthy, naturally tumbled, thick, luxury leather with an unusual material thickness up to 5 mm. Selected, top-quality hides are needed for leather of this quality. The cattle that KOINOR thanks for their approximately 5 square-meter hides all come exclusively from Europe. Only the hides of particularly strong and heavy bulls are used. That’s why they are so rare and valuable. N-NATURO is processed without splitting or embossing. Nothing has changed the natural surface of the material. All pores remain open. The material radiates warmth and is particularly breathable. The robust full-grain leather shows its original scars, a striking, coarse scarred surface structure with rustical charm which is still further accentuated by the extensive work. Neck and fat ridges come into their own for an expressive look. Many natural and growth characteristics demonstrate the authenticity of the special material. N-NATURO also surprises with its softness and outstanding pliant features which are unusual for the thickness of the material. The leather is voluminous and has an expressive, velvety “fat grip.”

_____
With its thickness of 1.3 to 1.5 mm, C-CLASSIC is a covered, classic furniture leather that is known for its slight shine, a soft and gentle furniture leather feel and its capacity for universal use. C-CLASSIC is first dyed on a water-soluble basis after tanning. The dyes penetrate through the leather and bond tightly onto the leather fibers. In addition, the leather surface of the scarred side has a protective layer of pigments. This means that traces of nature and growth are less visible but not totally lost. As a whole, the leather looks more even and is more resistant to outside influences. A covering material is created which is long-lived and easy to care for. An outstanding feature is the slight cloud-like effect which reveals itself in special colors and a faint light-dark pigmentation of the leather. The natural tumbling scars are fully retained and provide a naturally beautiful, refined look of the leather.

_____
D-ANILIN is a full aniline leather with a thickness of 1.0 - 1.2 mm coming from controlled European cattle populations.  A leather with a particularly beautiful and smooth surface and an elegant grain is produced from the hides of bulls and cows. Its natural appearance, the high breathability and best comfort properties are convincing. D-ANILIN is processed retaining the hide's natural surface with the grain. The leather is exclusively drum dyed, i. e. it receives its colour from within without covering the leather with  topcoat paint. This way the pores of the hide remain open and all natural characteristics remain completely visible. This means that each piece of furniture is one of a kind. Being an aniline leather D-ANILIN equalizes temperature and balances moisture very well. Since it is not embossed, D-ANILIN shows its natural colours and grain. The constant fulling in the barrel makes the leather soft and smooth; it receives a pleasantly warm and soft furniture leather feel.

_____
D-GAUCHO is a natural, slightly shiny aniline leather made from European rawhides with thicknesses of from 1.1 to 1.3 mm. First, the leather is tanned on a mineral basis with water-soluble metal salts and then barrel-dyed (i.e., it gets its color "from the inside out"). The surface is not covered and the pores of the hide remain open. This ensures a good temperature-moisture relationship. An active breather, D-GAUCHO is friendly to the skin and warm. When finished, all the natural characteristics and nuances of color are completely visible on the leather without the use of any additional color pigments on the surface. D-GAUCHO is sure to please with its extraordinary feel and strong sense of vibrancy. It's these characteristic, individual, natural features that make this leather so distinctive (i.e., each individually covered sofa is a unique piece). D-GAUCHO is not embossed and the natural scars with their fine structures are preserved instead. The pleasant, cuddly-soft feel of the material comes from extensive tumbling in the drum which makes the leather soft and supple.
