ANILINE LEATHER

Nappa leather with slightly shiny surface
1.1 - 1.3 mm thick

D-GAUCHO is a natural, slightly shiny aniline leather made from European rawhides with thicknesses of from 1.1 to 1.3 mm. First, the leather is tanned on a mineral basis with water-soluble metal salts and then barrel-dyed (i.e., it gets its color "from the inside out"). The surface is not covered and the pores of the hide remain open. This ensures a good temperature-moisture relationship. An active breather, D-GAUCHO is friendly to the skin and warm. When finished, all the natural characteristics and nuances of color are completely visible on the leather without the use of any additional color pigments on the surface. D-GAUCHO is sure to please with its extraordinary feel and strong sense of vibrancy. It's these characteristic, individual, natural features that make this leather so distinctive (i.e., each individually covered sofa is a unique piece). D-GAUCHO is not embossed and the natural scars with their fine structures are preserved instead. The pleasant, cuddly-soft feel of the material comes from extensive tumbling in the drum which makes the leather soft and supple.

We test all our leathers for their functional characteristics and fulfillment of the DGM quality guidelines RAL-GZ 430 "Allgemeine Güte- und Prüfbestimmungen für Möbel" (general quality and test specifications fur furniture). D-GAUCHO fulfill the strict requirements as follows:
Light fastness: min. level 3   |   Rubbing fastness: min. level 3

We process natural and growth marks based on the particular piece of covering and the character of the feature. Only real faults which might negatively affect the quality of the leather are left out of the covering.
